Dansmachine4 at November Music
November Music, the Netherlands’ most relevant international festival for contemporary music, has invited Dansmachine4 for a very special presence: from 11 till 15 November the installation will be at the Stedelijk Museum ’s-Hertogenbosch SM’s, where on sunday November 15th Brandon O’Dell (Scapino Ballet Rotterdam) will perform, accompanied by the Ivar Bjørnson Trio, playing the musical score live! This will be the very first time that dance, music and video will be all performed live
Dansmachine4
Dansmachine4 is an interactive art installation by Jérôme Siegelaer (better known internationally as VJ Stalker) that explores dance movements and body language. The installation is manipulated by those viewing and experiencing it as their movements are reflected in elegant projected images of Scapino Ballet dancer and former gymnast Brandon O’Dell.

Building at the STRP festivalsite has begun. Jerome and Daniel went ahead and checked the spacing of the installation. The 6m wide steel circle on which the projectionscreens and beams will be hung is already there (above Jerome’s head).Bram Snijders designed the Dansmachine4 flyer, which was delivered at the door today. It shows a videostill which will be projected on one of the six screens. The backside also credits both main partners and the three sponsors, who made realizing the project a bit easier. Thanks!
Between april 23rd and 26th Ivar Bjørnson has worked in Jerome’s studio on the interactive layering of the audio, as well as editing the piece for the live performance. All went well in a jolly good atmosphere!Ivar Bjørnson finished composing, recording and mastering 5 music modules for Dansmachine4, and will work together with Jerome for live sequencing the separate parts between March 23-26, in Eindhoven.
Jerome will perform along Wolves in the Throne Room at Roadburn Festival, April 23rd, 013 Tilburg.
On Thursday, March 5th, Jerome and Daniel recorded Brandon O’Dell, dancing Ed Wubbe’s choreography, at Scapino Ballet studios in Rotterdam. Daniels HDV camera was used getting 2 hours of raw material on tape.
Installation ‘Nachtblind’ at Breda’s Museum, in collaboration with Hanna Buda. From January 23rd (Cultuurnacht Breda) until March 8th.Dansmachine4b has been placed at Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, for one night, November 8th 2008. Daniel Dommermuth and Nicola Saponaro worked along and the main focus was to get the esthetics of the projections finalized.
